About Jason
In 1989 at the age of 19, I started my hardwood flooring journey sweeping the warehouse floors for my dad.
First in every morning, I was responsible to set up the kettle, have the milk crates placed evenly and juggle the tea bags. Then pour the milk in the mugs all laid out ready for when the management sat down.
I was taught a strict clean-up process. It was like a head chef after the last mains of the day are sent out and the kitchen hands are responsible to finish off.
After months of serving, cleaning and tallying lumber and supplies, I finally began my journey installing hardwood floors. The first six months, I was not permitted to use the power tools and was allowed only the use of a hand saw. Once I was able to use the handsaw freehand with consistent and precise cuts, I was finally granted the use of a power saw.
These little stories, silly as they may seem, provided a grounding effect on my life and taught me three important things which are instilled in me today; patience, perseverance and respect. All of which form my fundamental approach to business and to my life.
During the 1990’s, I worked throughout the United Sates of America in the hardwood flooring industry with my father Kevin. One of the many things we did together was attend the NWFA annual conventions.
With enough time and investment in the industry, in April 1997 both my father and I were awarded the NWFA Craftsman’s degree, and Dad received the Vanguard degree.
As our business grew we evolved into manufacturing, importing and distribution to become what we are today.
It has not always been easy, and I assure you, I have learned many lessons along the way.
The good news is, I now bring all the 30 years of experience to the table when manufacturing what we know best – Engineered Flooring.
